Acceptance

Searching outside myself, I
Asked everyone around, I
Sought what no one knew, I 
Never knew myself.

Something everyone had, I
Never had myself, I
Sought for understanding, I
Yearned for acceptance.

Everyone had answers, I 
Never understood, I
Lost myself in questions, I
Needed what they had.

Decades passed by, I
Never stood still, I
Moved to different places, I
Couldn't just fit in.

One day someone said, I
Need to love me from within, I
Never knew that Acceptance
Came from deep within.

Now I rejoice,
I have accepted myself.
All those who now see me, 
See me for myself.
